With the release of Penny Ur’s 100 Teaching Tips in our Cambridge Handbook for Language Teachers series, we sat down with Penny to find out more about the book and her personal experiences of teaching.
“I got excited about ideas that I wanted to convey to other teachers…the same sort of motive that made me want to become a teacher; I know something, I’m excited about it, I want other people to know” (Penny Ur, 2016).
In the first part of our interview, Penny explains why she decided to write ‘100 Teaching Tips‘ after 40 years of teaching, and what makes it different from the other titles in the Cambridge Handbooks for Language Teachers series. She also shares the most memorable event in her teaching career and gives advice on how to persevere when teaching can have its testing days!
