Your answers will help us to ensure that our courses and resources continue to meet your development needs, help you to accomplish your development goals and support you in achieving real results for your learners in the classroom.
Your survey feedback in action
In 2017 our State of Teacher Development survey was completed by thousands of teachers in over 90 countries. Your answers gave us valuable insights into your experiences and preferences. Here are just a few of the ways that your feedback helped us to develop new services to meet your needs:
- Increased self-study options: 81% of teachers surveyed in 2017 said they prefer to study alone, so we developed our range of 2-hour online courses to enable you to do just that.
- Shaping course topics: 70% of you said you needed support with teaching reading, writing, listening and speaking. Furthermore, 60% would like more help with language teaching methodologies, and 55% with using digital resources. Our new 2-hour online courses cover all of these topics, and you can choose a course by where you need further development.
- Growing Pocket Book series: 71% of you told us you buy methodology books as part of your teacher development activity, but spend an average of just 7.2 hours on development activities per month. This indicated a need for bite-sized content, so we’ve expanded our range of Pocket Books, written by leaders in the field including Penny Ur, Scott Thornbury and Herbert Puchta.
